Both en-suite with separate showers. * 4 adults + 2 children sharing. Pambele’s uniqueness is in its surroundings. Pambele is remote and the nearest settlement is the local fishing village, whose dhows you can see leaving every morning to go fishing. There are no restaurants, bars or shops nearby. It is tranquil and quiet and beautiful. Guests can do as little or as much as the mood takes them. Our onsite managers, Conrad and Zoë, will look after everything for them. They will be in contact before welcoming guests at Pambele to arrange any specific activities that may need booking in advance, such as Scuba diving, and also to plan what food the guests would like to eat during their stay. Pambele offers a very personal holiday, tailored to guests’ needs. We suggest guests bring lots of things to relax with, such as books, although we do have a few at the lodge and some DVDs in our winter lounge for our guests to use. During the winter months (June – August) it can be a little windy during the day and the temperature drops at night, so a jumper and a windproof layer is suggested. All rooms have fans and mosquito nets for our guests’ comfort. The archipelago, featured on David Attenborough’s Africa series on BBC, is teeming with wildlife. Snorkelling and scuba diving are some of the best in the world; deep-sea fishing allows a chance to catch Tuna and Kingfish, and the possibility of Marlin for the serious fisherman. Pelicans and Pied Kingfishers are often spotted from the lodge and a short drive to the bird hide will give the chance to see Fish Eagles and Cormorants. Flamingos are also frequent visitors to the surrounding waters. From June to December Whales pass by the surrounding waters, including the spectacular Whale Shark, a great time to visit Pambele.
