*Protect Mozambique’s Ocean from Seismic Blasting*

Mozambique’s coastline is home to rich marine life, including whales, dolphins, turtles, dugongs, fish, coral reefs and many species that support local communities, tourism and fishing.

But our ocean is now under threat from seismic blasting

Seismic blasting is used to search for oil and gas beneath the seabed. It involves loud ai**un blasts fired into the ocean every few seconds, day and night, sometimes for weeks or months.

These powerful blasts can disturb marine life, affect feeding and breeding, damage hearing in whales and dolphins, and harm the small sea creatures that form the base of the ocean food chain.

Mozambique’s ocean is too valuable to put at risk.

Our coastline supports fishing families, tourism businesses, coastal communities, marine protected areas and future generations. Expanding fossil fuel exploration in our ocean should not come at the cost of marine life, livelihoods and natural heritage.

Today was one of those simple, beautiful reminders of why we love where we live and what we get to share with others.

Out in the ocean snorkeling, we were blessed to see so much life beneath the surface and the highlight was spotting a teenage green turtle (not a TMNT) with soft purple hues gliding past us.

Moments like these are never just “sightseeing” for us. They are shared experiences, often with guests, friends, family and sometimes just the two of us — exploring, noticing, and being reminded of God’s creativity in every detail of creation. Oliver, as always, is right there in it with me, steady and calm, making even the smallest dive feel like an adventure worth remembering.

We are grateful to be able to live and host in a place where the ocean feels like part of our daily life, and where we can sometimes share these moments with those who stay at Venha Juntos Guest Homes.

Repairs are underway thanks to an amazing friend 💕

On 13/14 Feb Cyclone 🌀 Gezani swept through Inhambane and Venha Juntos felt the full force of the storm because of the direction of the wind.

Nearly all our roofs were damaged, with only one unit spared. As the rain poured in, it caused further damage inside the spaces we have so lovingly prepared for our guests over the years.

Venha Juntos means *“Come Together.”*

And today, those words feel more meaningful than ever.

To those who have stayed with us before, who have watched the Barra sunsets from our verandas, who have shared laughter around the braai, who know the sound of the ocean at night. You know what this place means. You are part of our story.

Now we begin the work of rebuilding.
