From growing fresh produce in our on-site garden to composting organic waste and using biodegradable cleaning products, many of the small decisions made at Ichingo are designed to reduce our impact on this extraordinary ecosystem we call home.

Beyond the lodge, we're proud to support surrounding communities through initiatives such as boreholes for clean drinking water and community food gardens, while our strict catch-and-release fishing policy helps protect the future of the Chobe’s fish populations.

June has arrived!

And with it comes cooler mornings, clear skies and some of the year’s best conditions for photographers yea round.

As the dry season settles in, wildlife begins concentrating along the riverbanks - creating incredible opportunities for close-up sightings from the water. Soft light, calm conditions and less summer haze make this an especially rewarding time for wildlife and bird photography alike.

Fishing conditions are also ramping up, with tigerfish becoming increasingly active as water temperatures cool. With private boats and flexible guiding included in every stay, guests can spend more time targeting productive channels and rapids at their own pace.
