Erongo Plateau Camp Beautiful exclusive camping site in the Erongo mountains near Omaruru in the Erongo Region, Namibia. Our sites provide for privacy. You can buy wood at the camp.

Erongo Plateau Camp is situated in the heart of the Erongo mountain range near Omaruru. The camping ground is small and secluded, the perfect place to relax and de-stress. There are hiking trails that are situated in the mountains. This area is best known for its Mountain Zebra. You can also see Oryx, Kudu, Steenbok, Damara Dik-dik, Springbok, Giraffe etc. The camping site has spotlessly clean sho

wers (hot & cold) and toilets. Two campsites have private bathrooms and two campsites have shared bathrooms. One campsite has a wheelchair friendly bathroom. There are fireplaces, shade and every site has its own water tap. We have no power supply, no swimming pool and no shop. Absalom is managing and maintaining the camping site. His good service, neatness and friendly appearance give him a good reputation. Pets are most welcome at Erongo Plateau Camp.

While exploring the Erongo Plateau, Lisa Nystrรถm from Sweden came across something truly remarkableโ€”an elephant screw, a fascinating reminder that these magnificent "giants" roam this beautiful landscape.

Every walk at Erongo Plateau Camp has the potential to reveal something extraordinary. Whether it's fresh wildlife tracks, breathtaking scenery, or unexpected discoveries like this, nature never fails to amaze.

Elephant shrews, locally known as sengis. Despite their name, they are not true shrews but are closely related to elephants. These agile, insectivorous mammals are uniquely adapted to the arid and rocky desert landscapes of the region.
