After all the renovation was done and we found a tenant, we decided to take a walk into the property. My wife Sandra looked at me and said, “Love, what if we turn this into a guest house for our old age? When our kids are out of the house, we’ll have our guests to talk with.” Immediately the idea sounded good and we started with 4 bedrooms, a small kitchen and a dining room. We were so excited that on the weekends we would invite friends, we cooked and we enjoyed thinking we were old, but we had to find a name for our new ‘old age home’.

There were mangos planted from Zambia by a group of disadvantaged people from Oshana region. The mango’s where so sweet that we decided to honour them.

Today Mango Guest House has grown from strength to strength with a fully equipped kitchen, restaurant, 24 operational rooms, a laundry room, a salon, and we also do catering. We started with only one employee, today we have more then 15 and after the completion of the new rooms we will employ about 25 people.
