🌟 BIG NEWS – Volunteer Opportunity Open! 🌟

We have a volunteering opening at Gabus Horse Stable from 10 June – 15 July 2026 in Namibia! 🇳🇦🐎

Looking for adventure, horses, and African wildlife? This is your chance to experience life on a game reserve while working with our horses and becoming part of our stable family.

✨What to expect:
• Living on a beautiful game reserve
• Staying at our lodge
• Experiencing wildlife on horseback
• Daily horse activities and stable life
• 3–4 outrides per week
• Meals provided
• Be part of other reserve activities like safari drives and hiking trails

✨ What you’ll do:
• Daily work with horses
• Training horses (groundwork, dressage, lunging, etc.)
• Feeding and stable routines
• Horse health care and general wellbeing
• Grooming, tacking up, and preparing safari horses for guest rides
• Cleaning horse stables, tack room, and equipment
• Joining guest rides (if a horse is available)
• Helping with general farm and reserve activities

💰Weekly fee applies

📍 Location: Gabus Lodge and Safaris, Otavi Namibia
📅 Dates: 10 June – 15 July 2026, 5 weeks

Location: Otavi, Namibia

Essential Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within a lodge or the broader tourism industry.
-Technical Proficiency: Advanced computer literacy
- Proven experience working with Property Management Systems (PMS) for bookings and confidential handling of guest data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Proficiency in German is a significant added advantage)
- Valid Code B Driver’s License (a Professional Driving Permit/GPDP is an advantage).
- High level of organizational ability and the capacity to lead a diverse team in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Guest Relations
- Oversee daily front-of-house operations, ensuring seamless check-in/check-out via the PMS.
- Maintain high standards of guest service, addressing requirements and feedback promptly.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and kitchen staff to ensure all guest areas are maintained to excellence.
- Manage lodge scheduling and administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ensure all lodge vehicles and equipment are handled according to safety standards.
- Assist in the implementation of lodge policies in line with Namibian Labor Law and tourism regulations.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff to maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the lodge in the absence of the General Manager.

Remuneration: Competitive salary, subject to relevant experience.

Help with Horses at a Wildlife Lodge in Namibia 🐎🌿

Last minute opening for February and March for Volunteers opportunity.🙃

We are a horse stable based at a beautiful wildlife lodge in the Namibian bush and are looking for a horse-experienced to help us with daily horse care.

Help needed with:
-Training and lunging horses
-Feeding, grooming, and general stable work
-Assisting with the daily care and wellbeing of the horses
