Health and safety professionals have warned that substance abuse among young people threatens mental health and road safety

In commemoration of World Mental Health Day 2026, the National Association of Seadogs, Bunker Bay Deck (Umuahia) visited St. Vincent de Paul Mentally and Physically Challenged Centre, Umuafai, Umuahia North, Abia State, to extend support to the centre and its residents.

The deck donated food items, and essential provisions and extended financial assistance as part of its commitment to a new lease of life for the residents of the centre. The centre’s representative expressed appreciation for the gesture and offered prayers for the association.

The visit reaffirmed the association’s decades-long dedication to humanistic ideals, inclusion, mental health awareness, and the general wellbeing of society's underserved.
