Her Regal Majesty, Olori Ambassador Dr. Temitope Morenikeji Enitan-Ogunwusi the Olori and wife of the Ooni of Ife graciously joined the Insecticide-Treated Net (ITN) distribution team on Day 4 of the campaign in Ile-Ife, Osun State, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to the fight against malaria.

She personally handed over insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) to households and encouraged families to accept the nets, sleep inside them every night, and take proper care of them to ensure lasting protection against malaria.

Her Regal Majesty also urged community members to return old and worn-out nets for appropriate disposal and replacement, reinforcing the importance of maintaining effective malaria prevention measures.

Her presence and advocacy further strengthened community participation and underscored the collective responsibility required to eliminate malaria and protect families from its devastating impact.

The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, through the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP), alongside the Roll Back Malaria Partnership to End Malaria, the Global Fund Malaria Nigeria Country Team, the Society for Family Health, (SFH) Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Institute of Human Virology (IHVN) and other Malaria Partners conducted a high-level advocacy visit to the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Monday to strengthen support for malaria control and elimination efforts.

The visits, which were led by the Representative of the Hon. Minister of Health and Social Welfare and National Coordinator-NMEP, Dr Nnenna Ogbulafor aimed to secure political commitment, stakeholder engagement, and resource mobilization for the upcoming Insecticide-Treated Net (ITN) Mass Campaign and other key malaria interventions.

The advocacy team also engaged the First Lady of Osun State, Chief (Mrs.) Titilola Adeleke, the State Malaria Ambassador, to promote community mobilization and public awareness.

Additionally, the delegation visited the Wife of the Ooni of Ile-Ife who is also the Regional Malaria Advocate, Her Regal Majesty Olori Ambassador Dr. Temitope Morenikeji Enitan-Ogunwusi, in Ile-Ife, emphasizing the vital role of traditional institutions in driving malaria prevention and community participation.

The engagements reaffirmed the commitment of government, partners, and traditional leaders to advancing malaria prevention and ensuring the success of upcoming malaria interventions in Osun State.
