A dream that began with one man’s determination to change the world has found a new home in Asaba.
On June 17, which also marked World Desertification and Drought Day, we proudly commissioned the Newton Jibunoh International Convention Centre at Nelson Mandela Gardens & Resort, a space created to inspire learning, preserve culture, promote environmental consciousness, and spark conversations that shape the future.
It was an honour to welcome distinguished Royal Fathers: the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON; the Obi of Issele-Uku, Agbogidi Nduka; and His Royal Highness Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR, the Emir of Kano.
We were also honoured by the support of the Delta State Government. His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education, while **His Excellency, Sir Monday Onyeme, Deputy Governor of Delta State, was represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff. We were equally pleased to receive representatives from the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Environment, Abuja.
Within the Centre are:
⭐️ Wole Soyinka Library
⭐️ Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Library
⭐️ DIDI Museum Annex
⭐️ Convention Hall
A vision.
A legacy.
A gift to future generations.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in making history.
