JOINT PETROLEUM STAKEHOLDERS RECEIVE NEW RIVERS STATE NSCDC COMMANDANT

Today, Monday, 22nd June 2026, joint petroleum downstream stakeholders in the zone—comprising IPMAN, PTD NUPENG, and PETROAN Etc—warmly received the newly deployed Rivers State Commandant of the NSCDC, Corps Commander Dr. Reuben, at the *ENERGY FOR LIFE* Sobaz Corporate Office in Port Harcourt.

The BOT Chairman, Chief Obasi Lawson, welcomed the Commandant, assuring him of full stakeholder support for a successful tenure. PTD NUPENG Zonal Chairman, Comrade Joseph Okafor JP, expressed gratitude for the visit, reaffirming the stakeholders' commitment to working in close synergy with the NSCDC. Comrade Okafor emphasized that while the unions strictly oppose illegalities, they urge the Commandant to remain accessible to leadership calls when urgent intervention is needed.

Responding, Commandant Dr. Reuben thanked the stakeholders for the reception. To ensure seamless, hitch-free operations and avoid complications, he requested designated liaison officers from the unions and proposed the introduction of NSCDC depot ticketing across all depots.

*HARVEST OF GRATITUDE: PTD NUPENG LEADERSHIP MASSIVELY STORMS ABA FOR COMRADE RAPHAEL CHUKWU’S TRIUMPHANT THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION*

It was an atmosphere of divine gratitude, joy, and grand solidarity today, Sunday, 21st June 2026, as the leadership and members of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) Branch of NUPENG, Port Harcourt Zone, traveled in their numbers to Aba for a special Thanksgiving Celebration held at *Stella Maris Catholic Church, Aba*.

The glorious service was organized by *Comrade Raphael Chukwu (Oilwell)* to offer heartfelt praises to God Almighty for his recent elevation and promotion as the *Unit Chairman of Walter Smith Unit, Owerri*.

The event was an absolute, roaring success, witnessing a massive turnout of comrades who gathered to celebrate the promotion of one of their own. The occasion was highly honored by a high-powered delegation of top-tier labor leaders from both the National and Zonal tiers of the union.

Among the eminent dignitaries who stood in solidarity with Comrade Chukwu were:

The massive attendance by the union's hierarchy underscored the spirit of brotherhood and our timeless creed that celebrates the progress of every member. Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the leadership congratulated Comrade Raphael Chukwu (Oilwell), urging him to lead the Walter Smith Unit with the fear of God, integrity, and absolute commitment to the welfare of tanker drivers.

The Thanksgiving service concluded with special blessings for the newly inaugurated Unit Chairman and prayers for the safety of all drivers on the highway.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the leadership and all comrades who traveled down to Aba to make this celebration a beautiful and unforgettable success.

*PROMOTING PARTNERSHIP: PTD NUPENG PORT HARCOURT ZONE EXTENDS CSR TO ELIMGBU POLICE STATION*

In a continuous effort to strengthen corporate relations and support security agencies within our host communities, a high-powered delegation from the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) Branch of NUPENG, Port Harcourt Zone, paid a courtesy visit to the Elimgbu Police Station on Friday, 19th June 2026.

The purpose of the visit was to officially present a state-of-the-art 50-inch Smart Television to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO). This gesture comes as part of the union's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to help furnish the newly built, ultra-modern office complex dedicated to the DPO and other senior officers.

The elite union delegation was led by:

The DPO further assured the delegation that the Elimgbu Division remains fully committed to working hand-in-hand with the union to ensure industrial peace and the safety of lives and properties within the axis.

As a union, we remain dedicated to fostering strong, impactful relationships with critical stakeholders for the mutual progress of our members and the society at large.
