The Nigerian Law School Class of 1991 is set to reunite in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for a grand 35th anniversary celebration scheduled to hold from December 10 - 13, 2026. The reunion activities will hold at Watbridge Hotels and Suites, Uyo.
The choice of Uyo for the landmark reunion is particularly fitting, as the city has earned a reputation as a serene, hospitable and vibrant destination. Known for its peaceful ambience, beautiful environment, growing hospitality industry and rich cultural heritage, Uyo offers an ideal setting for an occasion that combines intellectual engagement, networking, relaxation and celebration.
According to the Class Leader, Chief J.S. Okutepa, SAN, the anniversary and reunion will provide an opportunity for members to reconnect, relive fond memories, network and celebrate their remarkable journey over the past 35 years.
The Nigerian Law School Class of 1991 is an outstanding set that has produced distinguished lawyers, politicians, judges and statesmen who have made significant contributions to Nigeria’s development. The class boasts several notable personalities who have attained prominent positions in the legal profession, public service and other sectors.
Former Vice President Dr Alex Ekweme was a member of the class. Nigerian Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Simon Lalong, Senator Representing Akwa Ibom South in the Senate, Senator Ekong Sampson among a battery of political bigwigs and business moguls, Senior Advicates of Nigeria, academics, top practicing lawyers and jurists are also members of the distinguished class.
The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Hon. Justice Winnifred Effiong has expressed appreciation to her colleagues for choosing Uyo as the destination for the historic reunion.
The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, and the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, are expected to attend the event as special guests.
The keynote address at the reunion will be delivered by Hon. Justice Amina Augie, a former Justice of the Supreme Court. The lecture session will also feature a team of distinguished discussants who will bring diverse perspectives to the intellectual engagement.
