*ROAD TO 2027: THE GRASSROOT REVOLUTION AGAINST APC.*

13th September, 2026.

By Joseph Etemowei

There is a growing grassroots rejection of the APC among ordinary Nigerians who feel betrayed, neglected and left behind by the present administration.

Across communities, the complaints are becoming louder: hunger, poverty, corruption, nepotism, betrayal of public trust, political propaganda and worsening hardship.

For many citizens, the question is no longer about political promises. The question is: What has government actually delivered to the ordinary people?

Today, the APC may appear strong when you look at gatherings of government appointees, elected officials and political loyalists. But let us ask a simple question: Where are the actual voters? Where are the ordinary citizens? Where are the people in the communities?

A gathering filled repeatedly with the same political faces should not be mistaken for genuine grassroots support. Appointees and political office holders represent only a fraction of the electorate. The real strength of any election lies with the millions of ordinary citizens who will ultimately decide at the polling units.

The grassroots is saying that political appointments cannot replace the people.

Despite the enormous resources available to government, many Bayelsans and Nigerians continue to struggle with the basic necessities of life. Citizens are demanding accountability, better governance, economic opportunity and a government that genuinely understands their pain.

The APC's propaganda, many citizens argue, can no longer hide the realities they experience every day.

APC has become synonymous, in the eyes of many Bayelsans and Nigerians, with hunger, hardship and poverty.

The people are watching. The communities are watching. The voters are watching. Do not be deceived by crowded political meetings. Ask where the actual voters are.

The same faces appearing at different gatherings do not automatically represent the millions of Nigerians who will determine the outcome of the 2027 election.

2027 should be about the ordinary citizens, the grassroots and the future of Nigeria.

Nigerians deserve a government that will protect their interests, respect their dignity and use public resources for the development of the people not one that leaves citizens struggling while political elites celebrate around them.

Therefore, the message from the grassroots is becoming louder:

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

The people want accountability.
The people want good governance.
The people want inclusion.
The people want development.
The people want an end to political betrayal.
The people want a government that listens.

2027 is coming.

If the APC has truly lost the confidence of Nigerians, then the ballot box will speak.

APC should prepare to pack their political load and leave A*o Rock and the various State Government Houses in 2027.

The power belongs to the people.

THE GRASSROOTS HAVE SPOKEN. LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE.

PRESS RELEASE

Keep Our Campaigns Clean, Peaceful and Issue-Based — Clement Agiangie

As election campaigns officially commence across Nigeria, the South-South Zonal Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Clement Agiangie, has issued a passionate appeal to all political parties, candidates, supporters, and the Nigerian electorate to embrace peace, civility, and issue-based engagement throughout the campaign period.

Clement Agiangie emphasized that elections are the beauty of democracy and should never become a platform for hatred, bitterness, violence, or the destruction of the nation's social fabric. According to him, democracy thrives when citizens are free to present their ideas, policies, and vision without resorting to insults, character assassination, blackmail, propaganda, or deliberate falsehood against opponents.

“Political parties are competitors, not enemies. After every election, we remain one indivisible people under one green-white-green flag called Nigeria. Our unity must always be greater than our political differences.”

He admonished politicians and their supporters to understand that the true purpose of campaigning is to convince voters through superior ideas, credible leadership, practical solutions, and a genuine commitment to national development—not through offensive language or the deliberate destruction of another person's reputation.

Let ideas defeat ideas

The NDC Zonal Secretary called on all candidates, especially those seeking elective offices, to elevate public discourse by focusing on the economy, education, healthcare, security, youth empowerment, infrastructure, environmental protection, and the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.

He stated that Nigerians deserve meaningful debates about policies rather than endless exchanges of insults and manufactured controversies.

“Tell the people what you intend to do. Present your manifesto. Explain your vision. Let your achievements and competence speak louder than abusive words. Democracy becomes stronger when ideas compete against ideas.”

Reject violence and political intolerance

Agiangie strongly condemned every form of political violence, warning supporters against destroying campaign billboards, tearing posters, vandalizing campaign offices, disrupting rallies, or intimidating members of opposing political parties.

According to him, no political ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian, and no election should create permanent enemies within communities that have lived together peacefully for generations.

He urged youths across the country not to allow themselves to be recruited as political thugs or instruments of violence.

“Do not allow anyone to use you to destroy public or private property. Do not provoke others with offensive comments or hateful slogans. Your strength should be seen in your discipline, not in your aggression.”

A message to the ruling party

Clement Agiangie also appealed to the ruling party and all parties in positions of authority to create a level playing field where every political party can campaign freely without intimidation or harassment.

He noted that democracy flourishes when opposition voices are respected and citizens are allowed to make informed choices without fear.

“The ruling party should encourage issue-based campaigns and resist the temptation to personalize politics. Government institutions must remain neutral, while security agencies should protect every Nigerian equally regardless of political affiliation.”

Nigeria first

The South-South Zonal Secretary reminded Nigerians that political parties are temporary platforms, but Nigeria is a permanent national family.

He said elections will come and go, winners will emerge, and opponents will shake hands again, making it essential to preserve the bonds of brotherhood that unite the nation.

“Whether APC, PDP, LP, NDC or any other political party, we are first and foremost Nigerians. Let us disagree without hatred, compete without violence, and campaign without lies.”

Final words of encouragement

Clement Agiangie encouraged citizens to participate actively in the democratic process by obtaining accurate information, attending campaigns peacefully, voting according to conscience, and rejecting every attempt to incite violence or spread misinformation.

He concluded with a call for hope, unity, and responsible citizenship:

“Let our words heal, not divide. Let our campaigns inspire, not destroy. Let our politics build bridges, not walls. Together, we shall strengthen our democracy and build a better Nigeria for present and future generations.”

Signed:

Hon. Clement Agiangie South-South Zonal Secretary Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC)

Important read for all Bayelsans!!!

APC Federal and Bayelsa State Government : Where Are the Dividends of the So-Called Connection to the Centre?
By Gabriel Ukuta

Bayelsans deserve answers.
Bayelsans were told that aligning the state with the Federal Government and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would bring Bayelsa closer to the centre of power and attract development, federal projects and greater opportunities for the people.

But the question today is simple: what exactly has Bayelsa gained from this political alignment?
Where are the landmark federal projects? Where are the jobs, industries, roads, infrastructure and economic opportunities that Bayelsans were promised? Where is the tangible evidence that linking the Ijaw nation and Bayelsa State to the APC-led Federal Government has translated into improved living conditions for ordinary people?

Instead, many Bayelsans are confronted with prejudicial effect of this decision that is witnessed in the rising hardship, declining purchasing power, unemployment and the painful reality of struggling to meet basic needs.

Our people cannot eat political slogans. They cannot build their homes with promises of access to the centre. They cannot send their children to school with political alliances.

Governance must ultimately be measured by results. Interestingly, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State demonstrated that a state does not necessarily have to surrender its political identity to the party controlling the Federal Government before it can pursue development and defend its people’s interests. He defeated opposition forces in his state and continued to pursue the interests of his people.

Why then was Bayelsa told that defeating the opposition at home and subsequently aligning with the same political forces was necessary to connect Bayelsa to the centre?

If that political calculation was made in the interest of Bayelsans and the Ijaw nation, then the people are entitled to see the returns.

What major projects has this political alignment attracted? What has changed in the lives of ordinary Bayelsans?

These are not questions of political bitterness. They are questions of accountability.

The growing support for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), particularly across Bayelsa West and increasingly across Bayelsa State and beyond, reflects a growing desire among citizens for a political alternative that places the welfare of the people above political convenience.

The message from the people is becoming increasingly clear: Bayelsa does not need political proximity without tangible development. Bayelsa needs responsible leadership, accountability and a government that can translate political power into real opportunities for its citizens.

Bayelsans, Niger Deltans and Nigerians are proud of and grateful to His Excellency Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, CON, National Leader of the NDC whose probity, vision and progressive minded leadership led to the founding of the NDC a political platform that majority of Nigerians repose a lot of trust and confidence in to free them from the hardship wreaked on Bayelsa and Nigeria at large by the APC Federal and Bayelsa State Government.

The NDC therefore represents more than an opposition platform. It represents the aspiration of citizens who want the dividends of democracy to reach their communities, their homes and their families.

Bayelsans deserve roads that work, schools that function, hospitals that serve the people, employment opportunities for young people and an economy that allows families to live with dignity.

The APC Federal Government and the APC-led political establishment in Bayelsa must therefore answer the people: After all the promises of connecting Bayelsa to the centre, where are the dividends?

Bayelsans are watching. They are asking questions. And when citizens finally have the opportunity to speak through their Permanent Voter Cards, their verdict will be based not on political slogans, but on their lived experience.

The time has come to put Bayelsa and the welfare of Bayelsans first.

God bless Bayelsa State, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson and the Nigeria Democratic congress party the Noah’s Ark of our time.

SALGA BOSS IMPEACHMENT: *Bayelsa Govt Forces Assembly to go ahead inspite of restraining order.*

The Bayelsa State Government has intensified pressure on the State House of Assembly to proceed with the planned impeachment of the Sagbama Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Alice Tangi Allen, despite existing restraining orders.

The development has raised concerns among stakeholders who are questioning the alleged disregard for the court orders restraining further steps in the impeachment process.

Sources close to the matter said the Assembly is being encouraged to proceed with the process, despite the pending legal proceedings.

Stakeholders have therefore called for respect for the rule of law and due process, urging all parties to allow the courts to determine the matter.
