This December, a new chapter begins for Hotel Okura Amsterdam. Our 120 completely renewed and more spacious rooms and suites bring together Japanese heritage, Dutch influences and exceptional comfort in spaces designed around a sense of calm.⁠
⁠
The name Panorama reflects the view and distinctive perspective over Amsterdam that only Hotel Okura Amsterdam can offer. Signature represents the clearest expression of our renewed design, where every detail is considered and a sense of place comes together.⁠

Every piece of furniture is handmade, in warm wood with bronze accents, and window sills are cut from marble that resembles petrified wood. ⁠
The cultural connection is also reflected in the hand-painted porcelain wall plates, which change with the seasons and tell the story of the centuries-old trade relationship between Japan and the Netherlands.⁠
Above the bed, flowers from both countries come together in a bespoke artwork, while Shoji-inspired screens reveal the shadows of a famous Amsterdam plane tree.⁠

Beyond the design, the renewed rooms and suites offer more space to rest, work or spend time together, with the furniture thoughtfully arranged to make the most of the panoramic views. The experience is complemented by our Sleep Concierge, a dedicated pillow menu, evening turndown service and a curated sleep menu, allowing guests to personalise their sleep experience.⁠

The Amsterdam Grachtenrace is a sporting event for rowing teams from Amsterdam and beyond. More than 135 teams take on a challenging 25-kilometre rowing race through the heart of the city, passing under bridges and through Amsterdam’s historic canals.⁠

17-18 October TCS Amsterdam Marathon⁠

On Saturday, 17 October, the programme includes the Amsterdam City Walk, Kids Run, Heroes Run and 7.5K, as well as the Marathon Expo at RAI Amsterdam.⁠

On Sunday, 18 October, runners take on the TCS Amsterdam Marathon and Mizuno Half Marathon. The marathon route passes several of Amsterdam’s landmarks, including the Rijksmuseum and Vondelpark, before finishing at the Olympic Stadium.⁠

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) bringing electronic music to venues across the city. Since opening our doors in 1971, Okura has grown and evolved, while staying true to the philosophy of Japanese service, Omotenashi.⁠

Our rooms and suites have welcomed generations of guests, while our culinary story has continued to unfold. In 2002, Yamazato became the first traditional kaiseki restaurant in the world to receive a Michelin Star, followed by Ciel Bleu receiving two Michelin Stars in 2007.⁠

From Sazanka’s teppanyaki experience to Serre offering dishes made with the finest ingredients, recognised with a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
