Italian roadtrip part 3: the last stop of our roadtrip was an old favorite: Lake Lugano, on the Italian side, but very close to Lugano.

It was the perfect place to end our trip: to slow down, relax by the lake, finish the books we were reading and spend some time discovering Lugano: drinking coffee and enjoying stunning cakes at ‘caffé storici’, browsing a beautiful vintage shop and having a wonderful lunch at an Italian Osteria, where we enjoyed a brilliant local white Merlot.

Part 3 of my Italian roadtrip: Camogli 🐠

I was here just three weeks ago, but it was so good to be back — this time with my boyfriend for a proper holiday!

We had our first dinner at Fermento and the second night at Camogliese. Camogliese is beautiful for the view, but I preferred Fermento for the food and w**e.

We did a hike with stunning views and a very rewarding dip in San Fruttuoso.

And of course, we ate some focaccia col formaggio from Revello and watched the beautiful sunset on the beach 🌅

Italian roadtrip part 2: ultimate holidaying on Isola del Giglio 🏝️

Summer felt endless here.

We were lucky enough to be here during the w**e festival in Castello, which was so special. A w**e festival in a setting like this — an old medieval village on a hilltop — was just magical.

We also had a lovely dinner at Ristorante Da Maria and loved the w**e bar Bar Balocchi 🍷

We rented a scooter to explore the island, swam at Capel Rosso and chased the sun to Campese, where we watched it go down behind the island of Montecristo.

Roadtrip part 1: slow days in the Tuscan countryside

We started our Italian roadtrip at one of my favorite places Podere Invidia, unique holiday rental.

The first day we cycled to the market in Sinalunga. What followed were lots of home-cooked meals, morning swims and hikes, drinking coffee in forgotten villages (Trequanda, Montisi, Castelmuzio), dinner Osteria Le Logge in Siena, a visit to Jennifer’s beautiful ceramics Ivonne Carrero in Cortona, pizza night and a stop in Montalcino before heading towards the Tuscan seaside.

Perfect holidaying, if you ask me!
