Max Onink When you are looking at art, would you expect it to come home to bed with you? My work exists on the tilting point of the certain into the absurd. Your first impression feels like a familiar situation. Only to let you doubt it at a second glance. A camping kitchen set with a head slowly melting in the pot, or a dead duck that seemed to have flown into a sink, smashing it to pieces. I wish to disturb the natural flow of things, making you question the credibility of your believes. I use vulnerable subjects and uneasy feelings to adres that what might be too close for comfort or inappropriate. The intimacy may make you feel awkward. I wish my work would be in your life, that you let it into your house. You’re not imagining it; this work was made for you. I promise it’ll treat you well.

Linnea Langfjord Kristensen (b. 1991, DK) lives and works in Copenhagen, London and Amsterdam. She is an award-winning artist working between performance, text, and film supported by scenographic installations. Her work has been shown and published nationally and internationally including The Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), Cockpit Theatre (London), Martin Asbæk Gallery and Teater Får302 (Copenhagen). She has an MFA from the Royal College of Art, London (2020), as well as a BFA from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam (2017).

As part of Refugee Week Festival, we will be screening A World Not Ours, a film by Mahdi Fleifel, on 17 June at 20:00.

A World Not Ours is an intimate and often humorous portrait of three generations living in exile in the Ein el-Helweh refugee camp in southern Lebanon. Drawing on a rich collection of personal recordings, family archives, and historical footage, the film offers a sensitive and illuminating exploration of belonging, friendship, and family.

Filmed over more than 20 years by multiple generations of the same family, A World Not Ours is more than a family portrait. It is an attempt to document what is being forgotten and to preserve what should not be erased from our collective memory.

is a Spanish drummer originally from Badajoz, Extremadura. He is rooted in the American jazz tradition but also has been part of pop, rock and funk ensembles and his interests goes from purely musical contexts to interdisciplinary media.

Having a community oriented mind, now he dedicates his efforts towards bringing people together around culture while performing and touring regularly across Europe with a variety of musical projects.
