Dear Amstel Nest friends,
We’ve been running our Bed & Breakfast since 2011. Some of you stayed with us, others just like its looks but I think not many of you know that we started this B&B to sustain our non-for-profit platform Architecture in Development. Now, almost 8 years later, our online community has grown up, and we are preparing for the next phase.

With this campaign we want to empower more vulnerable communities to build their own schools, libraries and meeting places, on their own terms. We connect the needs of these communities to the globally available resources and expertise of individuals and companies that want to contribute to a larger positive societal change (think of CSR). The idea is similar to Airbnb which, albeit with a completely different audience and other intentions, also brings worldwide supply and demand together in one place.
In 2016 we tested this concept through a pilot and it turned out to work! The only problem is that we can’t bring it further with our current website. This requires an extra investment (see budget on campaign page) that we simply cannot afford. Hence this crowdfunding campaign, if everyone contributes a little, it should work and it can start from € 5!
Since 2011 we’ve been building a passionate community of architects. In 2016 our Buildify pilot established 6 collaborations and supported the realisation of a school in India.
