KNMI - Koninklijk Nederlands Meteorologisch Instituut (The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute) has issued a code orange severe weather warning for tomorrow morning and the first half of the afternoon. The entire country will face heavy gusts of up to 75-100 km/h due to storm Ciara.
From late afternoon the wind will increase and there will be very strong gusts of 100-120 km/h in the northwest. Code orange applies for these very strong gusts of wind. It will be a southwesterly wind which will turn west during the evening.
Later on Sunday evening and into the early morning hours on Monday the very strong gusts of 100-120 km/h will dissipate, but heavy gusts of 75-100 km/h will probably continue for much of Monday.
Specific for Limburg: Very heavy gusts of up to 120 km/h, especially during some predicted rainfall. There are risks of falling trees and loose branches. Take measures to prevent damage or injury. There could be dangerous situations for in traffic and for those partaking in water sports. Prepare for travel and take longer travel times into account. Follow weather reports and warnings.
