If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise. If you go down to the woods today, you'll never believe your eyes! For just at the very edge of the Veluwe on the quietest country lane lies the gorgeous Gingerbread Huis nestled in nearly 6000m2 of forest, melting in to the neighbouring national forest complete with the most enormous sandpit. There's a double bedroom downstairs wit
h a special bunk bed - the top bunk is a single bed, the lower is a super comfy double bed (for kids, or parents). It's packed with toys and books to entertain the kids. The bathroom houses a great shower alongside the toilet and the sink. The living room/ kitchen is half the house, and goes right upto the ceiling. It has a blue Chesterfield sofa, a French art deco wood burning stove (not yet connected though), a reading chair and a coffee table. There's a television with a hard-disk full of movies and tv series for everyone to enjoy. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, oven, hob, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, and all the usual pots, pans and crockery you'll need. There's a small dining table and 7dining chairs. There are open stairs from the living room up to the nestje (little nest) which has a double bed and perfectly positioned skylight window so you can enjoy the stars from your bed. Enjoy the selection of books above your head! Try out a little meditation on the cushions provided. There's a travel cot with it's own proper mattress for our youngest of visitors, which can fit into any of the rooms. The Gingerbread Shed provides some extra seclusion. Three steps from the main house is the warm, colourful, quaint little double bedroom with a stunning Moroccan pottery sink. What we like to do: walking in the woods, cycling around the lanes, sitting in the sun, pottering in the greenhouse, enjoying long lazy breakfasts, long evenings at the nearby spa Thermen Bussloo. What the kids like to do: Making dens in our woods, exploring the neighbouring forest, playing hide and seek around the sandpit, getting muddy, riding bikes down the lanes, feeding apples to the neighbour's ponies, playing football, playing swing ball, going down the slide, watching the ponies go past, howling at the moon, spotting stars, riding at the Ponycentrum down the road.
