Twenty years ago, Henk Vos shaped the interior of Kruisherenhotel Maastricht. Now his son takes up the pencil.

Bart Vos of VOS Design in Groningen is the interior architect behind the next chapter of the hotel, continuing a family conversation with the building that began two decades ago.
In his words: "We are not going to rewrite history, we are going to make history."

Some things stay.

Through the renovation, the design pieces that have defined Kruisherenhotel Maastricht from the beginning remain in place. Among them, the Bibendum chair by Eileen Gray: a 1926 modernist icon, quietly at home beneath a Gothic gable.
The Michelin Guide once called this hotel "an audacious meeting of the sacred and the profane". Everything we do keeps that meeting alive.

Kruisherenhotel Maastricht has begun its renovation. Our guestrooms, the courtyard and the cloister garden will each see careful, considered work through the coming months, reopening again in October.

We're closing for renovation.

From today, Kruisherenhotel Maastricht falls quiet through the late summer, reopening in stages from October. While the building rests, much of our team heads to Château Neercanne and Château St. Gerlach, so you may well see a familiar face on our other estates this summer.

Our team is still reachable every day for anything you need, whether that's a question about an existing booking, a future stay, or the renovation itself. See you in October.
