The Innovating Higher Education Conference 2026 invites contributions to this year’s edition, taking place 28–30 October in The Hague, hosted by the Open Universiteit at its brand-new campus.

Under the theme “From Innovation to Impact: Transforming Higher Education at Scale,” we welcome abstracts on digital learning, AI, flexible and personalised pathways, international collaboration, inclusion, sustainability, and more.

The ADMIT Project Releases Flyer Previewing Its Ethical AI Guide

Check out our new flyer introducing the key themes of its upcoming Guide for the Ethical Use of LLM/Generative AI in Higher Education. The flyer outlines the guide’s eight ethical dimensions, ranging from data governance and human agency to fairness, accountability, and technical robustness, and illustrates how these principles translate into practical considerations for educators, students, and institutions.

It also highlights the main risks and opportunities emerging from the use of generative AI in academic settings, offering a concise overview of the areas the full guide will address in greater depth.

[ENCORE project news]

The ENCORE partners met in Pisa, Italy, on the 7th and 8th of May 2025 for their last onsite meeting and final conference. On Wednesday, the 7th, the partners discussed the latest developments in the project and the final upcoming activities. On the 8th, the partners organised a final blended conference called: “AI in Education: What’s the Point?” from 14.00 to 17.00 CEST.

During this event, the partners showed how generative AI and open educational resources (OER) can help educators design engaging lessons and teach the modern skills needed in today’s world. Our partners shared experiences and best practices for creating lessons using AI-driven tools, reusing OER, and recognizing learning achievements through micro-credentials. It was also a great chance to connect with peers—teachers, researchers, and industry professionals—who want to keep improving education across Europe. People could attend the event by registering on Eventbrite.
