Some of the best holiday memories come from saying yes to something a little unexpected.

Wild swimming has been one of those moments our guests have enjoyed this summer in Alta, Northern Norway — cold enough to wake you up, fun enough to become one of the stories you take home, and always better when there’s a warm fire waiting afterwards. 🔥

Our guests this week has had some fantastic weather exploring Alta this week. Today brought a little rain, but that didn’t stop anyone from getting out on the mountain bikes and enjoying the trails.

A little mud. A little rain. A lot of good company.

GLØD Pub is open today and Saturday from 17:00–22:00 — come by for burgers, waffles, refreshing drinks and a good evening around the fire. 🔥

Summer is still here in Alta. 🌿

There are still trails to explore, rivers to paddle, and long evenings to spend outside.

But little by little, the light is changing. The evenings are getting darker, the air a little cooler, and we’re starting to look forward to another side of Arctic Living.

Cozy evenings inside our Aurora Canvas Domes. A warm fire. Something good to eat. And eventually, if we’re lucky, the first Northern Lights dancing overhead. ✨

We’re not quite ready to say goodbye to summer yet…

But autumn in the Arctic has its own kind of magic. 🤍

⛰️ En god tur blir enda bedre i lag.

Sommeren i Alta har kanskje ikke vist seg fra si varmeste side i år – men det stopper vel ikke oss fra å komme oss ut? 😉

På lørdag er det klart for Halddemarsjen, og kanskje er det akkurat det vi trenger: en dag ute, gode folk og et mål å gå mot.

🥾 Ta med familie eller venner og gå i ditt eget tempo.
🤍 Kom alene – kanskje får du en ny turvenn på veien.
⏱️ Eller meld deg på konkurranseklassen og se hvor du står mot klokka.

Ung eller gammel. Rask eller rolig. Det viktigste er å bli med.

⛰️ 9 km | 907 moh.

🧇 På toppen: Nystekte vafler, varme drikker og forfriskninger.
🔥 Når du kommer ned: Mydland-pølser, hjemmelaget lapskaus og noe godt å drikke.

Og været? Vi tar det som det kommer. Vaflan smaker godt uansett. 😉

Halddemarsjen er allerede på lørdag – og det finnes mer enn én måte å ta Haldde på.

🥾 Velg turklassen, gå i ditt eget tempo og nyt turen sammen med familie eller venner.

⏱️ Eller prøv konkurranseklassen og se hva du klarer mot klokka.

9 km fra Kåfjord til Halddetoppen, 907 moh. Og den siste kilometeren? Der får beina jobbe litt ekstra. 😉

Uansett tempo venter samme Haldde på toppen.

Og selvfølgelig vaflan.

Halddemarsjen – a good day out, together. ⛰️

There’s something special about seeing people head up Haldde together.

Some are there to beat their time from last year. Some walk with family or friends. Some have done Halddemarsjen many times before, while for others it’s their very first trip to the top.

Different ages. Different pace. Same mountain.

For us at GLØD, that’s a big part of what Halddemarsjen is about. Getting outside, meeting people along the way, cheering each other on and sharing a good day in the mountains.

We’ve been part of Halddemarsjen for more than 22 years, and we’re looking forward to doing it all again.
