Few places on earth feel as vast and untouched as Finnmark, Northern Norway.

Endless white landscapes, crisp Arctic air, long ski days — and at night, the chance of Northern Lights above a world without artificial light. ❄️✨

Our ski expeditions in Finnmark take you across the Finnmarksvidda mountain plateau and through protected wilderness areas such as Stabbursdalen National Park and Øvre Anarjohka National Park. These journeys move through some of the most remote and beautiful landscapes in the Arctic — shaped by Sami culture, reindeer, mountain cabins, and wide-open horizons.

We offer both easy and more demanding cross-country ski expeditions, from cabin-to-cabin trips where polar dogs pull the gear, to longer winter ski expeditions with tent nights and self-supported travel. All trips are led by an experienced wilderness guide, with carefully chosen equipment, a strong focus on safety, and meals prepared from local Arctic ingredients.

At Glød’s Aurora Canvas Domes in Alta, Norway, guests wake up to quiet pine forest, a warm wood-burning stove, and the Arctic sky above. In winter, fresh snow surrounds the domes, and when the Aurora appears, you can watch it from bed. 🤍

With heating, king-size beds, private toilet, and optional three-course dinners in our lounge, this is Arctic glamping at its most comfortable.

🐾 Winter’s coming — and our huskies know it! ❄️

The first snow has fallen in Alta, and our furry friends can already feel the season shifting — waiting for their favorite time of year. 🤍

At Glød, we don’t run dog sledding tours — our huskies are helpers, companions, and part of the team. Whether joining hikes, snowshoe adventures, ice fishing, or ski expeditions, they carry supplies, share the journey, and bring a little extra warmth to every Arctic day. 💚
