Å Camp

Å Camp Å camp is run by Isaac and Beth. Located alongside the Tessungåe river. The idea is to develop small living spaces in tents, cabins and treehouses.

Tessungdalen is a valley on the edge of the great plateau of Norway, Hardangervidda, and is for me what I call home. My family has lived and ran a woodland farm here for centuries, and now I would like to invite everyone to come and enjoy this wonderful place. My name is Isaac and with loads of help from family and friends, I am building a place to experience the Norwegian nature in an authentic,

simple and cheap way. The goal is to make a great place to camp, hang out and do different projects along the untouched river Tessungåe. The outdoor facilities are shared, and in the years to come there will be built a sauna, several bathtubs and an outdoor kitchen. It’s a place to take a break from the everyday life and meet new people. There is a range of possibilities to explore nature, do exciting sports like kayaking and kiting, and there are incredible fishing and skiing spots. The camps first year has now passed. The year has involved building a bio- toilet, refurbishing the barn and developing ideas for the future. It’s been an inspiring year; the atmosphere around the campfire has been amazing and this is thanks to all the great people who have visited. If you are around and want to see what’s going on, you’re very welcome to come by next season, or book a stay!

Swimming season has officially arrived. 💧

Or at least, the season of standing by the river saying, “It’s not that cold once you’re in.”

The water is still wonderfully cold, but the warm afternoons are making a convincing argument for taking the plunge.

If you’re visiting this summer, remember to pack your swimsuit—and a little bit of courage. 🌿

Summer arrived yesterday afternoon.

Not by the calendar, but on four sturdy legs.

Our little herd has returned to Tessungdalen, and the hills feel complete again. There is something about seeing cattle spread out across fresh green pasture that makes the season feel real.

Over the coming months they’ll spend their days grazing, exploring, and helping us care for these landscapes in the way grazing animals have done here for generations.

Yesterday was spent introducing them to new grass, new fences, and familiar views.

Today they’re already acting like they own the place.

Welcome to this year’s grazing crew. 🌿🐄

✨ Hangout Festival 2026 ✨

What a weekend.

Music drifting through the trees. Late-night concerts beneath the summer sky. Children running barefoot between the pines. Old friends, new faces, and countless conversations around campfires and and on picnic blankets.

Thank you to every artist, volunteer, guest, neighbour, sponsor, friend, and family member who helped make this year’s Hangout Festival possible.

What started as a simple idea—to create a space for music, nature, and connection in Tessungdalen—continues to grow into something we could never have built alone.

Looking through these photos, we’re reminded that the most meaningful moments are often the simplest: a song carried by the wind, sunlight through the birch trees, and people gathering in a place they care about.

We’re still soaking it all in, but one thing is certain:

🌿 Hangout Festival will return in 2027. 🌿

Thank you for being part of this year’s story. We can’t wait to gather again.

Until next time,

❤️ Hangout Festival & Tinn Folk

It becomes more visible now.

Not because it has changed —
but because the landscape around it has.

Light reaching further in.
Lines becoming clearer.

Å Gløtt,
as it always was.

Every window holds its own perspective.
Not to frame the landscape,
but to follow it.
The river continues, whether watched or not.
