Every journey has its chapters — and some of them, eventually, come to a close. So here we are and will say it out loud, we decided to sell FURU in the months to come. What a journey these last 7 years have been though.
From renovating this old building from the ’50s into what would become FURU, to opening the doors to our hostel and café five years ago — it’s been such an adventure filled with so many amazing stories.
From sleeping on the couches in today’s cafe while renovating the first rooms, to pouring out the first drink at our restaurant and welcoming the first guests. Many incredible people joined us over the last years and we are forever grateful for all the support we received.
We opened our little place during the strange summer of Corona and since then hosted many guests at FURU. We hold techno parties, family dinners, ping pong tournaments, weddings, long sauna nights, concerts, outdoor movie nights, late-summer BBQs… and through all of it, FURU came to life, in a way we could have only dreamed of.
It’s hard to put into words what FURU has meant to us — and to so many of you. We’re proud, we’re grateful, and honestly, writing this isn’t so easy. But with a sense of peace and excitement, we’ve decided it’s time for this dream of ours to become someone else’s.
We still have so much love for this place, and that’s exactly why we’re taking our time to find the right person — someone whose values align with ours, and who sees the potential in this little corner of Lofoten the way we did back then (and still do).
