Northern lights in Lofoten, Norway last week. 💚 The sky suddenly lit up like strong moonlight, and I pulled over just to watch. Shot on iPhone, since I had just packed up the real camera and the tripod. A reminder that aurora comes and goes quickly, and that staying out a little longer often pays off. This is just 5 minutes from Lillevik, on Gimsøy.

View westwards from Hoven (368m) - and down to Lillevik too. Hoven isn't Lofoten's tallest mountain, but the 360° view from the top is spectacular, all year round. Because a large part of Gimsøy is completely flat, the reward from the 30-45 minute hike up is bigger than one might think.
