Art with fjord views? Kunsthuset Kabuso in Øystese is just a short trip across the fjord from us — perfect for a day trip, a stop on your way here, or a last art fix before heading back through Bergen 🎨 And don’t leave without trying their café — the carrot cake and chocolate muffin is delicious.

This getaway proves the best gifts are close to home. Our guests booked a weekend in the Treetop Cabin with their giftcard — and they only had to cross the fjord from Norheimsund.

Summer in Norway can be rainy—but there’s always something to discover. 🌧️🌿

If you’re heading to Vøringsfossen for the day, we always recommend a stop at
Norsk Natursenter - Hardanger in Eidfjord. It’s a great place to learn about the ecosystem, local wildlife, and the wild landscapes of Hardangervidda—and it’s beautiful too.

Airbnb’s new 15.5% host-only fee will soon be rolling out everywhere. For big chains, that’s a rounding error. For us — a small business running two cabins by the Hardangerfjord — it’s a big difference.

So here’s our ask: before you book your next stay anywhere, look up the host’s own website or Instagram first. A lot of the time you’ll get a better deal, because neither of you is funding the platform’s cut.

Plus it means we’re not relying on just one or two platforms for our whole season.

We love hosting through Airbnb and Booking.com too, they bring us wonderful guests. But if you already know you want to stay with us, come straight to the source.
