"I was born here, but I left for a long time before coming back. I've spent a lot of money restoring all these buildings around, each one belonged to a different member of my family. This one, I lived in downstairs when I was a child.

There is no more driving along the peninsula, no no, the Germans left in 1945 and things have only just recovered, but all these camper cars came through, leaving their boxes and things around. They destroy, I want to protect.

It is the beauty of the place, that is the gold for me.

A few weeks ago a man came through, he was on, how do you say, not a boat but with the wind? He was windsurfing. He stayed here."

"So, all the crazy people come through here?!"

"Yes, that way I don't feel so alone..." she smiled mischievously, before turning to walk back into the kitchen.
