Nestled in the Lyngen Alps, in this beautiful & tranquil part of Northern Norway (approx. 1.5 hours from Tromso) is The Distillery Cabin. It is situated at the Lyngen Resort overlooking Årøya Island and boasts unspoilt panoramic views of the Lyngen Alps and Fjord. This tranquil location is perfect for privately viewing the spectacular Northern Lights as the cabin faces north. It is an ideal base f

or both winter and summer activities including: skiing, dog sledding, hiking, observing wildlife. The Cabin:
• The private cabin can accommodate 6 people:
• 3 Bedrooms – 1 x Double, 1 x Twin and 1 x Single
• 1 sofa bed
• All bedding and towels are provided
• Full Kitchen including full oven, hob, dishwasher & fridge
• Laundry Facilities
• Large windows with panoramic views
• Log burner
• Bathroom with bath, shower and underfloor heating

Aurora Spirit Distillery

Nearby is the wonderful Aurora Spirit Distillery (the world’s most northerly whisky distillery) - here you can sample whisky, gin and aquavit which are all locally produced using glacial water. Y

Dog Sledding

We have good links with a local Dog Sledding Guide - Tommy Larsen from Team Lyngen. Tommy prides himself in providing intimate, unique and authentic dog sledding trips. Tommy has a team of 13 Alaskan Huskies (and one heinz 57, called Elsa) and provides an intimate and “real” Dog sledding adventure, this is in contrast to the larger corporate dog sledding organisations where you will be with up to 40 other people. Tommy is a local guide with good knowledge about the Lyngen Alps and is passionate about his “sport”. He speaks excellent English and his dogs are loved and well cared for. People are welcome to visit his kennel at Karnes, where they can meet the dogs before embarking on their Arctic adventure.
