Orcas have long passed through the waters around Nusfjord, moving along the fjords as part of the rhythm of life here.

Heading out on the water, you start to see the landscape differently. The mountains feel closer, the air sharper—and then, out in the distance, a fin breaks the surface.

There’s a quiet kind of excitement to it. Watching them move through the fjord, with nothing but open water between you and them.

One of those experiences that stays with you, long after you’ve returned to shore. 🐋

Some places are cared for, generation after generation. 🌿

Nusfjord has stood here for centuries. A fishing village shaped by the sea, the seasons, and the people who have cared for it over time.

Today, that care continues—preserving the original cabins, respecting the landscape, and allowing the natural surroundings to remain just as they are.

Earth Day is a reminder that places like this don’t exist by chance. They endure because they are looked after, with care and intention over time.

In Nusfjord, our kitchens work with what the Arctic provides. Fresh catch of the day, including cod, herring, bream, flounder, halibut, and crab—alongside wild and locally grown produce. Everything we serve is sourced from nearby farms and trusted local suppliers who know and are deeply connected to the landscape.

There’s a quiet balance in the way everything meets on the plate—traditional recipes carried forward, gently shaped by contemporary techniques, yet always grounded in place and tradition. This alignment is why Nusfjord has been recognised in the 2026 Michelin Guide.

You can also take part in this journey with us—sailing the waters, bringing in your own fresh catch, exploring the land, and discovering what the season brings. Or simply stay for a meal and enjoy the flavours of Lofoten. 🌊

A new chapter in the kitchen at Nusfjord.

We’re excited to welcome Kenny Jonsson as Head Chef.

Kenny has been part of Nusfjord for some time, growing into this role from Senior Sous Chef. With over 15 years of experience, and a background shaped in Swedish Lapland, his approach is closely tied to the seasons, the landscape, and the ingredients found here.

His cooking is thoughtful and grounded—focused on local produce, Nordic traditions, and creating dishes that feel connected to place. It’s something our guests will experience in a very real way, through flavours that reflect both the surroundings and the moment.

As he steps into his first Head Chef role, he’ll continue working closely with Roy-Magne Berglund, strengthening the direction of Nusfjord’s culinary identity.

We’re looking forward to what’s ahead—and to welcoming guests to experience it. 🌿

Discover the season of transformation at Nusfjord Village & Resort 🌊🦅

As the fjords come alive with shifting light and migrating life, our RIB ocean safari offers a truly breathtaking way to experience nature up close. Glide through crystal-clear waters, surrounded by dramatic peaks, as you encounter the majestic sea eagle—Norway’s largest bird of prey—soaring and diving just meters away.

And this season brings something even more extraordinary…
Pods of orcas have begun to return to the fjords, following the great schools of herring—offering rare and unforgettable sightings in the wild

This is nature at its most powerful. Raw, unpredictable, and deeply moving.

At Nusfjord’s original smokehouse, time slows to the rhythm of tradition.
Our salmon is gently smoked the old way—simple, patient, and deeply rooted in village life.
Served at our Nordic-inspired breakfast, it offers guests more than a taste—
it’s a quiet connection to place, craft, and heritage.

Slow. Honest. Understated luxury.

April in Nusfjord.
You start to notice the small things again.

Seabirds returning to the village 🕊️ The first signs of green pushing through 🌱 Plates shaped by what’s fresh, local, and just arriving with the season.

Days are unhurried—walking, tasting, watching. Letting the place reveal itself slowly, one detail at a time.

It’s not quite winter. Not quite spring.
But something in between that feels entirely its own.

Experience — in the wild.

Morning light through the window.
A warm cup, and the stillness of the fjord.

Days drift gently between rest and exploration, while nights bring something unexpected—the northern lights, flickering softly overhead.

Experiencing Easter, the Nusfjord way.

Sunrise over Nusfjord 🌅
The kind that makes you stop without thinking.

There’s a quiet enchantment to these mornings. Light returns gently, stretching across the fjord, while everything else stays still.

It’s peaceful. A little unreal. And somehow, the perfect way to begin the day.

Experience — in the wild.
