Our Story
Samuel's Cottage and Turid’s Cottage are beautifully situated at Seljenes overlooking The Porsanger Fjord. Guests are coming from all over the World, but mostly from Europe. The guest satisfaction factor has been overwhelming. Booking.com rating for 2013 - 2019 has been steady above 9 out of 10. At Airbnb we the are awarded the Superhost Award.
The guests especially like the view, but they also like the tranquillity and calmnes at the bonfire place by the seashore. Others like the sauna.
The terrain above the cottage is ideal for walking at Summertime and in Autumn. It is possible to walk for hours, without getting lost. Most of the guests visit North Cape, which is just a short 2 hour drive away. Others like to watch the Northern Lights aka Aurora Borealis. Seljenes is probably one of the best places in Scandinavia for this activity. Other places that cater to Northern Light entusiasts need very often to take them several km away to avoid artificial light. At Seljenes we have no street lights, and the outside lamps are easily switched off.
One of Norway’s 18 Tourist Roads is located close by, starting in Kokelv and going through a very spectacular landscape for ending up in Havoysund. A Tourist Road Classification indicates the road is going through a very special and seeworthy landscape.
