There is few things as beautiful as skiing in Lofoten. Here is a video from when our guest went skiing Ryten. It is possible to find a suiting mountain depending on your skill level and experience. The Hostel is perfect as a base for ski-touring and especially if you want to explore the western parts of Lofoten. And if you want a woodfired sauna when you get back. The best ski season normally starts in February, but when it comes to the weather around here, nobody really knows 😂

If you want to avoid crowded lineups and strong sunlight, Lofoten in desember might be perfect for you! Althogh the sun disappears totally during this month the waves are still on. Even during this period, it’s not necessarily pitch-black the whole time — you’ll often get a few hours of twilight or “blue-hour” lighting around midday, giving a bit of light despite the sun staying below the horizon. Giving you just enough «daylight» to get you’re wetsuit on and squize in a surfsession.

The past few days have been magical. It feels like we’re living in a fairytale with all those snowy landscapes. We caught fish, spotted sea otters, sea eagles, and moose (not to mention the orcas 🙃). And when it gets dark the aurora spotting starts:)
