Melkevoll Bretun Camping is startingpoint to Briksdal glacier, and other hikes. 20 km from Olden, Stryn, in Norway. Melkevoll Bretun Camping is a unique camping built in harmony with nature in the midst of stunning nature. Here are views to huge waterfalls, glaciers and mountains as well as Oldedalen valley and Oldevatn lake. We are located at the entrance of Jostedal National Park, and is the starting point for wonderful hikes to Briksdal glacier and surrounding mountains. We are located 20 minutes drive from Olden, 30 minutes drive to Loen and Lodalen, and 40 minutes from Stryn, in Nordfjord, Norway. Here are some of our facilities to our guests:

- A big kitchen area with barbecue, fireplace, and beautiful sitting groups to eat your meal

- Sauna/ ice bath

- Terraces for camping and tents in between trees, stone and rivers.

- High standard accommodation:

- Parking lot for day-parking guests to Briksdal glacier or hikes in the area.

The season Melkevoll Camping Oldedalen is drawing to a close ~ and we'll be open until the 29th of September.

After that our cabins and facilities will be closed, but it will be possible to park or camp with just a few facilities open a couple more weeks.

It has been a really wonderful season!
As many guests have said: Yes, it has been much rain, but the views are still perfect!

We give huge thanks to all our encouraging, positive and good vibe guests; it's a pleasure for us to welcome you all here. We love that you come visit here; to enjoy the nature, the mountains, the water, the cosy evenings around the fire.

Blåfjellet (1316 a.s.l)

With startpoint Melkevoll Camping Oldedalen you can go for the beautiful walk to Oldeskaret, and from there it's a small walk to the top of "Blåfjellet": it's the mountain right behind Melkevoll Bretun. (The Blue Mountain).

Some nice views over Briksdal, Brenndal, Olden water, Oldedalen and the glacier platou up there!

Brenndal glacier seen from Flatsteinbu.
A mountain hike with startpoint Kvame & the beautiful waterfall Sulkja. Then to Kvamsætra, and from there to Flatsteinbu. It's a small cabin on the top, and as you can see spectacular views over Brenndal glacier and Oldedalen.

A beautiful day to take a walk in mountains!

Today Bretuns manager Frank visited "Kjenukjen" (very easy name for our international guests) ~ some also call this mountain Høgenibba, Sundsnibba.. so you name it!
The view here is amazing!
Start at Gjerde 10-15 min drive from Melkevoll Camping Oldedalen 🩵
