On the occasion of International Youth Day 2026, Chitwan Sakriya Women’s Foundation (CSWF), with the support of ActionAid Nepal and funding from the Government of Irish aid through the Samriddhi Project – Women’s Rights Program III, successfully organized a “Trek to Someshwor Hill” in collaboration with the Youth Volunteer Group, Madi, under the theme:
“Youth for Sustainable Development, Common Aspirations.”
The initiative aimed to strengthen youth engagement in the protection and sustainable management of local public resources, including water, land, and forests, while raising awareness of the importance of preserving, developing, and promoting local tourism destinations for sustainable community development.
The program was attended by Hon. Thakur Prasad Dhakal, Member of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly; Mayor Tara Kumari Kaji Mahatto of Madi Municipality; ward representatives; municipal officials; representatives of the Nepal Police Force; youth leaders; and representatives from various organizations.
A special yoga and mindfulness session was also conducted, highlighting practical approaches to stress management and mental well-being through mindfulness, physical exercise, and healthy lifestyle practices.
CSWF extends its sincere appreciation to all participants and stakeholders for their valuable contributions and active engagement in advancing environmental conservation, youth leadership, mental well-being, and sustainable community development.
