Holi is a famous Hindu festival known as the Festival of Colors. It is celebrated mainly in India and Nepal during the spring season (February or March).
The festival symbolizes:
β’ πΈ Victory of good over evil
β’ π¨ Love, joy, and forgiveness
β’ π Arrival of spring
People celebrate by throwing colored powders (gulal), splashing water, dancing, singing, and sharing sweets. A bonfire called Holika Dahan is lit the night before Holi to represent the burning of evil.
In Nepal, Holi is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Kathmandu, Terai, and other regions with music, family gatherings, and cultural traditions.
