Mount Kailash is a striking peak in the Himalayan mountains of western Tibet.As source of some of the longest rivers in Asia like Indus and Brahmaputra, Kailash is a sacred mountain for Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and followers of the indigenous Tibetan religion of Bön comprising millions of people. Mount Kailash is one of the worlds sacred places where pilgrims complete ritual walks around the base of the mountain. We are heartbroken to see the devastating floodings in the Northern Nepal - Tibet border/Langtang region. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this heartbreaking calamity and the rescue workers in the field. On the final day of hiking 32 mile circumambulation we had a chance to meet a Tibetan families those who just finished Mt.Kailash round with full-body prostrations! While hiking we cross several rivers and enter the Gold and Red Cliffs, a narrow canyon with stained purple, cobalt and rust walls (Day 9th) - Pilgrimage to Mt.Kailash, Tibet & Nepal!).
