Asadh 15th in the Nepali calendar is celebrated as the National Paddy Festival, which signifies the beginning of rice planting season. The monsoon bestows the lands with rain and makes it suitable for the paddy plantation. The people get to the fields, sing the songs, splash each other with the mud, plant the saplings and devour yogurt and beaten rice with banana, a special and traditional lunch for the auspicious day. Paddy festival carries a lot of importance for Nepal as well as Sustainable and Agrotourism.
