A trail that gently leads you… and gives everything back.

Hiking into the stillness of Chema Lake, every path guides you through alpine forests, past sweeping mountain views, and finally to the serenity of a hidden lake - where the air feels lighter, the colors sharper, and time quietly slows.

Here, the reward isn’t just the view, it’s a moment: a hearty meal, a drink in hand, and the kind of peace that stays with you.

Swipe to see the view and step into this alpine escape.

In a world racing to build higher and faster, sometimes the boldest strategy is restraint.

It was an honour to share Namgyal’s measured, deeply intentional approach to hospitality in the Himalayas through the latest Asia Sustainable Travel Changemaker profile - a story of durability over speed, value over volume, and building wisely in climate-vulnerable landscapes.

Our sincere thanks to Jeremy Tan and Asia Sustainable Travel for believing in this story and for creating space for conversations that challenge the industry’s default instinct to scale without pause.

Grateful to be part of a dialogue that asks not how fast we grow but how responsibly.

As the moon rises full in Falgun (March), Mustang comes alive in reverence for Toran La — the sacred three-day festival of the Thakali people.

More than a celebration, Toran La is a ceremonial homage to ancestors, honoring their enduring guidance and contributions to the community.

At midnight, women of the family quietly prepare Khimi — a sacred offering of alcohol, milk, and rice beer, finished with ghee at three points, presented with devotion to invite blessings for the year ahead.

Wishing you a Toran La filled with clarity, renewal, and ancestral grace.

Gyalpo Losar marks a sacred turning of time and the arrival of the Year of the Fire Horse.

In the highlands, homes are cleansed to release the shadows of the past year, welcoming clarity and renewal. The ritual of hearty Guthuk soup, prepared with nine symbolic ingredients, invites reflection, while monasteries fill with quiet prayers and blessings. Fresh fluttering Lungta flags rise into the Himalayan wind, carrying intentions across vast landscapes.

From Shinta Mani Mustang, we wish you a prosperous and driven Gyalpo Losar 2153. May this year ignite strength, momentum, and meaningful journeys ahead.

In the quiet stones and ancient halls of Kutsab Ternga, each step resonates as a beacon of faith and blessing across Mustang’s mystical landscape.

In Tibetan, “Kutsab” means representative of the body of Guru Rinpoche, “Ter” signifies precious treasure, and “Nga” represents five — the five sacred treasures safeguarded here. Rooted in centuries of devotion, this monastery in Jomsom preserves these treasures, enduring symbols of peace, protection, and spiritual awakening.

Be a part of this spiritual journey.
