I kind of love rainy days as they lend themselves to slower practices.

A guest extended their stay this week just so they could enjoy being right here (after biking around Aotearoa for over two months!).

The secret is, you don’t need a holiday to rest, and you can take a moment or two right where you are.

Of course, we’re also here should you feel like being wrapped in fresh sheets, sipping tea all day, watching the rain fall down.

Moments with Ranginui

Living in Ahipara, the ocean view is vast, the sky view is vast. On a hill overlooking a relative level landscape allows for some very incredible star and moon gazing.

These a just a few of our favourite moments over the last few years, and in reverence of the lunar eclipse on Tuesday evening. 🌑🌕

Business Practises for Communities of Care.

Pretty keen (understatement) to move from extractive economies to care economies. We are a small business, you are but one person. But together…. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

If we all shared when and how the system has us in a jam, and how we can work together to get out of that jam - this is the work of collective liberation.

It’s a Sunday so take it seriously but hold it lightly 💛

Recently, Neat Places came up to experience our two offerings - The Huts and Drop In.

Between the two spaces a lot of your needs are covered if you’re coming north to surf.

They are both expressions of our lifestyle and values, and we love sharing them with you.

Hope to see you at one or both some time soon.

Good human tip 🌺 Find what you need on local platforms like Neat Places to support local business and communities.

“The Huts in Northland’s Ahipara, is an eco-friendly bed and breakfast that’s all about slowing down and soaking in the beauty of nature. Nestled on family land that’s been around for over 25 years, it’s a perfect getaway for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle. With no Wi-Fi to distract you, the focus is on relaxation—whether that’s star-gazing, enjoying a good book, or simply chilling out. Yoga mats are available for those wanting to stretch out, and the cozy, thoughtfully designed spaces encourage guests to unwind and reset.” -
