Bamber House Bamber House is a backpacker hostel located in a picturesque neighbourhood just a short walk from great views over the city on Mount Eden.

Bamber House is a colonial mansion in the beautiful surroundings of Mt Eden. We have about 40 beds ranging from 6 bed dorms to ensuite double and twin rooms. Mt Eden is a city suburb about 2.5km from downtown, easily accessible by bus. Bamber House is a relaxed and cosy backpackers welcoming people from all over the world. s and international cooking nights. Our friendly staff are also able to advise and help you plan your travel adventures in New Zealand and make your trip a memorable one.

To get to Bamber House from Downtown you need to catch the 258 or 267 bus from outside Nando's restaurant, opposite the IMAX cinema on Queen Street. This bus takes about 10 minutes and costs $1.90. The bus departs roughly every 10 minutes and every 20 minutes after 6pm. The last bus from here leaves just before midnight. Make sure the bus goes via View Road!
