This marks the end of Quail Lodges journey. My beautiful final guests left me bubbles and heartfelt notes that have left me on a high note. I have loved every minute of hosting the fabulous guests that have chosen to stay with me. The dinners we’ve enjoyed together, the stories told and the food and wine we’ve eaten and drunk, those memories will stay with me for life. The wonderful new friends I’ve made through the superlative Bed and Breakfast Association, the swapping of information and attending the sublime conferences, winning awards, I’ve loved it all. The many 5 star google reviews and the countless 10’s from b.com, they’re the icing on the cake and boy do they motivate you to just keep trying a bit harder. I will start again someday, in some new place but for now the next chapter with my best friend and super husband Hamish lies in a slightly different direction. I need to thank Hamish from the bottom of my heart, he never asked to have countless different people dining with him night after night but he was always an exceptional host and ensured wine and conversation flowed, although he never managed to learn how to put a pillowcase on straight!! Who could possibly work for Sam he’d say. Goodbye for now but I’m sure I’ll return to the hosting fold as I absolutely LOVED it xx
