Small improvements at the motel is what we pride ourselves on here at Mount Eden. This time we have partnered up with and we have stocked our guests rooms with their amazing shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We also got these stunning dispensers to match!

Just a bit of a yap behind the scenes of a motel owner in fact any renovation there always a better way to do things but sometimes that idea comes after you’ve done your original idea.

This is our take on it, we were trying to get the rooms renovated quick so each room was on main pressure being 70s motel most of our rooms are low pressure so our plumber why don’t you install outdoor mains till you do the room. Genius!!

A problem turned into our favourite feature ✨ The bench was 80mm short, so we added a shelf behind the splashback and it worked perfectly.

We also mixed our own red grout after not being able to source any in NZ 👀 Bathroom is finally done! Can’t wait to show you what’s next around the motel.

Staying local and exploring local ✨ Just a 7-minute drive from Mount Eden, we spent the afternoon surrounded by the cutest dogs and the tastiest treats at .house.cafe 🐶☕️ The café is tucked inside a stunning historic building, and inside you’ll also find beautiful work from amazing local artists.

The late nights, the sacrifices, the endless love, you made it all seem like second nature.

Our girls will grow up thinking you had everything figured out… and one day they will became adults and realised you were just doing your best every day.

And somehow, against all odds, you made it work. We can’t thank you enough cause without you it would be pretty bloody hard.

Things are moving FAST at the motel right now — it’s honestly giving whiplash 😅
Flooring is in, and from here the reno is about to take off.
Jen smashed the front garden (seriously, it’s never looked better 🌿), and with it being the last week of school holidays, the girls and I made the most of it and stayed onsite to enjoy all the progress.

Three weeks into our latest renovation and everything is coming together so well! 🙌 Our new bathroom is almost finished—just plastering to go—then it’s on to the kitchen and adding some colour to our room.

Just a little recap of what we’ve been up to ✨ The room is coming together so well and we’re getting closer to plasterboard 🙌 So exciting!

We’re also gearing up to start our second 2-bedroom apartment 🤩 The first one has been booking out heaps, so we can’t wait to welcome guests into this one too 🥰✨

We did it ✨ our poolside Reno is complete and we absolutely love it. We really hope our guests do too. A lot of hard work but I’m glad we did cause it definitely not as easy as I thought. School holidays coming up fast so we hope guest enjoy our new refreshed poolside.
