❄️ SNOW MAY FALL TO 200M OR POSSIBLY 100M - Models suggest snow may fall to 200m or possibly 100m across parts of the region this evening and overnight.

👉 Good morning Otago, check out this intriguing ECMWF snow level map for Southern NZ at 12am tomorrow morning which indicates that snow could fall down to 200m for Clutha, Dunedin and East Otago, 300m for Queenstown Lakes, North and Central Otago. However, we do see a window where flurries may tease down to 100m around Dunedin and Clutha.

🚘 Road snowfall warnings are in place for State highway 1 north of Dunedin, Crown Range and Lindis Passes.

➡️ DUNEDIN TO WAITATI HIGHWAY - A few snow showers are expected between 7pm and 11pm tonight 1 or 2 cm of snow may settle about the summit of the road, with lesser amounts to 200 metres.

➡️ CROWN RANGE PASS - A few snow flurries may affect the road above 600 metres until later this afternoon, but little if any should settle on the road. Then between 4pm and 8pm today, 2 to 3 cm of snow may settle on the road above 800 metres, with lesser amounts down to 500 metres.

➡️ LINDIS PASS - A few snow flurries may fall above 600 metres until later this afternoon, but little if any should settle on the road. Then between 5pm and 9pm today, 2 to 3 cm of snow may settle on the road above 800 metres, with lesser amounts down to 500 metres.
