A busy time for Blenheim …
If you're in Marlborough, watch for heavy machinery on the roads as Marlborough’s annual grape harvest gets underway. Harvest will run until mid-April with peak activity expected in March.
This'll affect the wider Marlborough region from Koromiko in the north to Ward in the south and along the Wairau Valley to the west with more activity on all state highways—State Highways 1, 6, 62, and 63.
Take extra care when you're travelling, looking out for harvest season activities, particularly around vineyards. You'll need to be especially carefully when overtaking. Make sure you have plenty of room before you pass, look out for oncoming traffic, and look for trucks and harvesters entering and leaving vineyard areas.
Our summer maintenance programme also means there're a number of worksites throughout the region. Factor these works into your travel plans.
