We’ve had a number of enquiries lately, particularly from Australia, asking whether we can put together a complete Marlborough experience combining accommodation, flying and some of the best things to do while you’re here.

So we have.

The Marlborough Warbird Experience can include accommodation at Copper Black, a flight in our Yak-3 Full Noise Fighter Flights, a guided visit to Omaka’s world-class Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre and a vineyard visit for w**e tasting and lunch.

Our featured package is based on three nights accommodation for two people, and a flight in Full Noise for one person, but we’re very flexible. If two nights suits you better, you’d like to stay longer, add another w**e experience, spend more time around the aircraft, or tailor the flying component, we can put something together around you.

For our Australian friends, the very favorable exchange rate makes Marlborough especially attractive from across the Tasman.

One of our favourite day trips from The Pavilion by Copper Black ❤️

A couple of weeks ago we headed out to Ōpuke Thermal Pools & Spa, and it was absolutely worth the drive. It’s around 1 hour 15 minutes from The Pavilion , and if you have the time, I highly recommend taking the scenic route through the stunning Rakaia Gorge.

If you’re after a little indulgence, book the adults-only area, complete with a swim-up bar, beautifully designed pools and incredible views across to the snow-capped Southern Alps.

The food and drinks menu was excellent too.
✅ Our top tip? Book the 4pm–6pm session so you can soak in the warm pools as the sun sets over the mountains. Pure bliss. 🌅

This is us. 🤍

I’m Paula, this is Graeme, and at our feet is Griffon – the real boss of the operation. 🐾

In 2020, we built Copper Black with a simple idea: to create more than just beautiful places to stay. We wanted to create memorable experiences and share the places, people and stories that make New Zealand so special. 🏡

Since then, the journey has grown to include Copper Black Marlborough, The Pavilion – Christchurch, and Fighter Flights where Graeme has spent the past 12 years creating unforgettable warbird experiences in our Yak-3, Full Noise. ✈️

Today, Copper Black Collection brings all of those passions together — accommodation, aviation, travel, adventures, hidden gems and the stories we discover along the way. 🌿🍷✈️

This is just the beginning. Over the coming months we’ll be sharing more of the places we love, the experiences we create, and perhaps even a few exciting new chapters still to come. ✨
