Dormancy & Cane Colour

In the quiet of the morning at Summerhill Heights, our Pinot Noir vines settle into a dormant state. The canes glow with that beautiful burnt-orange hue — a sign of well-ripened, lignified wood from a strong season past. This warm, reddish-cinnamon tone is classic for Pinot Noir in Canterbury’s cool climate, promising strong cold hardiness and fruitful buds ready for spring.

Meanwhile, our woolly friends keep the grass tidy and the soil happy ❤️

We're opening our cellar doors especially for these special evening sessions:

Time: 7:00pm – 8:30pm each evening
Enjoy guided tastings of SHV wines in a relaxed, atmospheric setting as the day transitions to dusk.
