Happy Valentines Day 2026 - the day that once again took us back to the No 1. accommodation property in Christchurch - we are thankful and delighted for the accolade and welcome you all to come enjoy the Manor experience this year.

A Bittersweet Moment

Today marks 12years since we bought the Merivale Manor and started a journey that has included so many highs and 'interesting challenges like earthquakes, seismic shifts, pandemics, recessions - but always recoveries and more good times.

At the centre of all of it has been you, our wonderful and loyal customers, clients, friends, team members, suppliers, friends and family. We have totally enjoyed the fun, friendship, camaraderie, memories and stories that have been shared over these years - it really has been a pleasure hosting you and sharing our small part of the world with you all.

We are now at the point where we are ready to pass the chalice to the next fortunate owner, who will inherit so many friends they will never be lonely again :-)

Our hearts are full, the memories of our time at the Manor will stay with us forever - maybe someday there will be a book, there have certainly been enough stories and happenings over the years to fill many chapters :-)

WE recently published some old Manor photos on the Remembering Christchurch page and wow - we were blown away by the response. Over 300 likes and 50+ comments… so many of you shared your memories and love for Merivale Manor, we thought - why not open the doors? Sooo - we are hosting an Open Day on Friday 30 August so you can come see the Manor for yourself. Walk through the rooms, soak in the history, and enjoy a rare look inside one of Christchurch’s most iconic heritage buildings. Bring your PHOTOS, so we can add to her story!
