The Elms B&B NZ

The Elms B&B NZ Rose Cottage at “The Elms” is a charming detached B&B, with full facilities.

Located close to the Christchurch airport, the Elms offers bed & breakfast and fully self-contained accommodation in the tranquil countryside just beyond the City’s northwest urban boundary. Close to the Christchurch International Airport and Antarctic Centre, the Elms is nearby the Russley, Harewood and Clearwater golf courses (Louise is a keen player and has a NZ amateur title). The University o

f Canterbury is nearby and it's a quick 15 minutes to the centre of Christchurch City, Hagley Park and Botanic Gardens. Rose Cottage is near the major arterial route to all Canterbury’s skifields which are only an hour and a half away, so it’s a perfect base for exploring and enjoying all that Canterbury skiing has to offer. Your hosts Matthew and Louise have skiied in this area for many years and are able to give you up-to-date reports on snow conditions and the most suitable place to ski on any given day.

"The perfect setting for a return to see family

The setting of the cottages was idyllic. Our hosts were gracious and friendly. Beds were comfortable with quality linens. Towels were luxurious. The fruit bowl and cookies was a lovely gesture, well received. We would love to return in the summer to use the outdoor pool. While set away from roads and the bustle of the city, this property is less than five minutes from supermarkets, takeaways, cafes, and industry, along with a world-class golf course, so if you need access to anything it's at your fingertips.
Please don't expect modern, pristine 2020's design. This property is a classic with antique furniture and beautiful Persian rugs. For us this was a bonus and made us feel like we were staying with family. Others may see that differently. If you want a hotel, please stay at one, but if you want a genuine, comfortable and private stay this is ideal."
Louise & Mark Champion, Auckland (4-5 October 2023)
