Te Anau is the last town before the wild ⛰️ Keep going past Te Anau and the mountains close in as the roads wind into prehistoric Fiordland.

If you're staying here, you're probably getting ready for something big (Great Walks, anyone?) or you're back after an epic adventure...

You can be standing in a rainforest and back at the lake in time for dinner. 🏔️

🚗 Haast Pass is the best Wānaka day trip - the drive is spectacular, the stops are easy and the landscape turns to green glacier country.

Then you turn around, come back over the hill, and the whole lake opens up as the road winds along the lake. Don't forget to keep your eyes on the road 👀

Hotel is a few minutes from the water, with a bistro for when you're back from your day trip.

Day four of the school holidays and you've officially run out of ideas. 😵‍💫

If you live in Invercargill or Dunedin...you don't have to go far these holidays. 🚗

The kids are in the pool by nine. You're on the side with a coffee, and for one blessed hour nobody needs anything from you. ☕

A couple hours later, they're exhausted (in the best way possible), and there's a separate bedroom, so you're not whispering in the dark at seven o'clock. 🛏️

🏨 We're a couple of hours down the road from Dunedin, and about ten minutes from your own front door if you're already in Invercargill.

Salt in your hair, sand still warm underfoot, and the Tasman doing its thing outside your window all afternoon. 🌊

That's the West Coast for you. Hokitika Beach right on your doorstep, endless sky, driftwood as far as you can see. 🌅

Imagine flying all the way to New Zealand and skipping the glaciers 🧊🤯 (don't do it!)

Franz Josef sits right on the route between Hokitika and Wānaka, which makes it an easy reason to slow the trip down.

Walk out to the viewpoint, or get close with a helicopter tour.

It's the perfect excuse to actually visit the West Coast.

The Southern Institute of Technology is 100 metres away, the town centre is a few minutes on foot, and the airport is under 10 minutes in the car.

We've got 60 rooms, from studios through to superior and premium, and each one comes with:
