Our Story

MOTEL CLOSE TO CROMWELL HERITAGE PRECINCT & LAKE DUNSTAN We purchased Central Gateway Motel in November 2015 after being away from Cromwell for a few years. Previously we had lived in Cromwell for over 20 years. It is great to be back in Central Otago and located so close to Lake Dunstan with views of the surrounding hills. What a fantastic part of New Zealand to be in!

Since owning Central Gateway Motel we have refurbished all 8 units - 3 Upstairs Studio Units opening onto a balcony with views of the hills and a glimpse through to Lake Dunstan, 2 Large Downstairs Studio Units with garden views, 2 One-bedroom Family Units with plenty of space and 1 Compact, cute hide-away Unit (nicknamed the “Cabana”). Most of our units have Superking beds and heatpumps/airconditioners. All units are self-contained, have large flat screen TVs and free Wifi.

We have plans to add more units to our small family run motel in the future, so watch this space!
