"We had a wonderful nights accommodation this last weekend at Burn Cottage Retreat. The cottage is gorgeous, beautifully presented, exceptionally well appointed and filled with thoughtful touches including a couple of home made biscuits. The quality linen and bedding were especially lovely and made the stay feel genuinely luxurious.

Noel was a wonderful host; friendly, helpful and welcoming. Arriving to find the fire already lit for us was such a thoughtful touch and the perfect start to our weekend.

The curious tūī, dressed in black,
With a snowy tuft upon its neck,
Hops through the garden, bold and bright,
From dawn's first song to fading light.

It peeks in windows, checks each flower,
And visits feeders every hour.
With whistles, clicks, and melodies sweet,
It turns each garden into a treat.

Here at Burn Cottage Retreat, they love to stay,
Visiting our feeders throughout the day.

Step inside and you'll be greeted by the glow of your own gas fire, lit and waiting for your arrival, ensuring your cottage is beautifully warm and welcoming from the moment you walk through the door.

Wrap yourself in one of our luxurious rugs, settle in front of the fire, and pour a glass of Central Otago Pinot Noir. The only thing left to do is relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

And if you ask nicely, we may even have a pot of mulled wine simmering away for you...

Today marks our final clean for the summer season — and what a season it has been! ☀️✨

From long summer evenings in the gardens to cosy cottage stays, we’ve been so lucky to welcome so many lovely guests through our doors over the past few months.

It’s certainly been a busy season, but one filled with wonderful people, great conversations, and plenty of special memories made here at Burn Cottage Retreat.

A huge thank you to everyone who chose to stay with us this summer — we truly appreciate your support and loved being part of your Central Otago adventures. 💛

Now it’s time to take a breath, enjoy the beautiful autumn colours, and prepare the cottages for the quieter winter months ahead.
