Our little quail are often seen.

A gentle rustle, a feathered hello,

Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality during our stay. As promised, I've attached the Milky Way photos we took near your property on the night of 29 September. We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed capturing them.

We had a fantastic stay at Burn Cottage Retreat. The apartment was exceptionally comfortable, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully decorated. We especially appreciated how well-equipped everything was.

We have also left a review on Booking.com and were happy to give top marks in every category.

Thank you also for letting us experience a little bit of farm life this morning. Feeding the sheeps, spending time with your lovely dog, and chatting with both of you were highlights of our trip. 👋 We've been a little quiet here of late - but don’t worry, we haven’t disappeared!

While we may have been a little absent from social media, we’ve certainly been busy behind the scenes at Burn Cottage Retreat. 🏡✨

Winter has brought some lovely new guests through our doors, and it’s been wonderful to welcome people and share the Retreat with them during the quieter months. ❤️

We’ve also been busy getting everything ready for the warmer months ahead — giving the gardens some love, getting the cottages summer-ready and, of course, making a few plans for what’s next…

🌿☀️ Summer is just around the corner, and we have some changes in store!

"We had a wonderful nights accommodation this last weekend at Burn Cottage Retreat. The cottage is gorgeous, beautifully presented, exceptionally well appointed and filled with thoughtful touches including a couple of home made biscuits. The quality linen and bedding were especially lovely and made the stay feel genuinely luxurious.

Noel was a wonderful host; friendly, helpful and welcoming. Arriving to find the fire already lit for us was such a thoughtful touch and the perfect start to our weekend.

The curious tūī, dressed in black,
With a snowy tuft upon its neck,
Hops through the garden, bold and bright,
From dawn's first song to fading light.

It peeks in windows, checks each flower,
And visits feeders every hour.
With whistles, clicks, and melodies sweet,
It turns each garden into a treat.

Here at Burn Cottage Retreat, they love to stay,
Visiting our feeders throughout the day.
A clever character, full of cheer,
Bringing a little magic to guests who are here. 🖤🌿🐦✨

Step inside and you'll be greeted by the glow of your own gas fire, lit and waiting for your arrival, ensuring your cottage is beautifully warm and welcoming from the moment you walk through the door.

Wrap yourself in one of our luxurious rugs, settle in front of the fire, and pour a glass of Central Otago Pinot Noir. The only thing left to do is relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

And if you ask nicely, we may even have a pot of mulled w**e simmering away for you...
