If you're staying with us at Artica Art & Accommodation in Port Chalmers, we have a hidden gem we recommend you explore: the walk up Mihiwaka! The start of the trail is just a few minutes drive from our B&B. As you ascend, the path rewards you with breathtaking views over Blueskin Bay, the Otago Harbour, the stunning Otago Peninsula, and all the way to Dunedin. It takes about 50 minutes to get to the summit, and while it is a reasonably easy walk good footwear will come in handy as it can be a bit muddy occasionally. After your adventure, return to the comfort of Artica to relax and unwind, or have a cold drink at one of the local pubs or restaurants. ✨

One of my favourite beaches is in Aramoana, just 15 minutes drive from Port Chalmers along the beautiful Otago Harbour. Saw a sea lion with a pup there the other day! 🦭🦭😊
